Representatives from NGOs discuss heat, drought and extreme weather
How can the Groß-Gerau district better prepare for the consequences of climate change? This question was the focus of a specialist workshop held on June 3, 2025, at the district administration office, organized by the Climate Protection Department in cooperation with the planning office team ewen. Representatives from various non-governmental organizations dealing with the effects of climate change were invited.
The two-and-a-half-hour event focused on the collaborative development of an impact analysis for the county's emerging climate adaptation concept . Key topics discussed included heat stress in cities , soil depletion , extreme weather events , urban planning , water and nature conservation , and health .
Climate adaptation manager Clara Hemming emphasized that the goal was to create a solid foundation for further concept development.
