Representatives of NGOs discuss heat, drought and extreme weather
How can the Groß-Gerau district better be adapted to the consequences of climate change? A specialist workshop on June 3, 2025 dealt with this question in the district office, organized by the climate protection department in cooperation with the planning office Team Ewen. Invited were actors from various non -governmental organizations that deal with the effects of climate change.
At the center of the two and a half hour event was the joint development of a concern analysis for the resulting climate adaptation concept of the district. Central subject areas such as heat load in cities , drying out soils , extreme weather events , urban planning , water and nature conservation and health .
Climate adaptation manager Clara Hemming emphasized that the goal was to create a solid basis for further concept development. The participants particularly raised the open exchange and the possibility of networking. The first cooperation ideas have already been initiated. The workshop is part of a series of events that underlines the district's participatory approach. A follow -up date is planned for November 2025 .
