An online platform invites citizens to submit proposals for a sustainable future
The Groß-Gerau district is calling for active participation: With an interactive online idea map for climate adaptation, the district administration aims to gather creative and sustainable approaches from the public. The goal is to develop solutions together to better respond to the consequences of climate change.
“Climate change affects us all and requires swift, coordinated action,” emphasizes Clara Hemming, the district’s climate adaptation manager. The idea map offers a simple way to participate: citizens can submit their own suggestions, mark areas, and comment on existing ideas.
The platform is aimed at anyone interested in topics such as extreme weather events, green infrastructure, health, the environment, or renewable energies . Suggestions for climate-friendly local mobility or economic adaptation can also be submitted.

The project is part of the German Adaptation Strategy to Climate Change (DAS) and is funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMUV).
