Workshop by the district administration lays the foundation for greater climate resilience
District of Groß-Gerau. entitled "Climate Adaptation – Results and Solutions for the District's Climate Adaptation Concept" was recently held with representatives from various departments of the district administration. The aim was to present initial results of the developing climate adaptation concept and to develop concrete strategies for a climate-resilient future.
"The climate adaptation concept of the Groß-Gerau district is a key step in making our region fit for the future," emphasized First District Councillor Adil Oyan in his opening speech. "Only with sustainable solutions can we effectively protect ourselves and nature from the consequences of climate change."
Measures for heat protection and water management
The workshop focused on topics such as heat mitigation , rainwater management , and the promotion of climate-resilient infrastructure . Participants discussed practical approaches to better adapt county-owned buildings, open spaces, and organizational processes to changing climate conditions.
A key outcome was the further development of a catalog of measures based on the experiences and perspectives of the various specialist departments. "The workshop demonstrated the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue," explained Clara Hemming , the district's climate adaptation manager. "Only together can we make our district resilient to the consequences of climate change."
