The science city of Darmstadt honors exemplary construction and renovation projects in the Ernst-Ludwig-Saal.
As the City of Darmstadt announces, the "Climate Prize for Sustainable Building" will be awarded on Tuesday, November 25, starting at 6 p.m. in the Ernst-Ludwig-Saal at Schwanenstraße 42. The prize will recognize inspiring new construction and renovation projects from Darmstadt that address climate protection and climate adaptation.
Awards and practical insights
The event showcases exemplary measures in the areas of sustainable architecture, energy efficiency, green building, and climate-resilient urban development. Jan Hegenberg, bestselling author and known as "The Grass Eater," is the guest speaker.
After the awards ceremony, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and talk to the winners. The event is aimed at students, professionals, and anyone interested in sustainable building or planning their own projects.
Kolmer praises the high quality of the submissions
Climate protection officer Michael Kolmer highlights the commitment in Darmstadt and emphasizes that the jury faced a difficult selection.
The competition recognizes innovative measures for climate protection, energy efficiency, the use of renewable energies, sustainable building materials, green roofs and walls, as well as climate-adapted rainwater management and protection against heat and heavy rainfall. The aim is to showcase and celebrate successful projects. A total of €6,000 in prize money is available.
