Autobahn GmbH announces several construction phases on the A5 and A67
Several closures will occur at the Darmstadt interchange in the coming weeks. This is due to road repair work on the A5 and A67 motorways. The Federal Autobahn GmbH (Federal Highway Company) has announced this.
The work will be carried out in three construction phases, each leading to temporary closures of motorway sections and connecting ramps.
Construction phase 1: Closure of the A5 motorway towards Basel
The first construction phase affects the A5 motorway in the direction of Basel.
• Saturday, March 14, 2026, around 4 a.m.
• to Sunday, March 15, 2026, around 10 p.m.
Recommended diversion:
From Weiterstadt junction via the U38 (B42) diversion route to the Büttelborn junction on the A67.
Construction phase 2: Connection A5 Frankfurt to A67 Mannheim
In the second construction phase, the connection from the A5 from the direction of Frankfurt to the A67 in the direction of Mannheim will be closed at the Darmstadt interchange.

• until Monday, March 23, 2026, around 5 a.m.
Recommended diversion:
From Weiterstadt junction via the U38 (B42) diversion route to the Büttelborn junction on the A67.
Construction phase 3: Closure of the A67 towards Frankfurt
The third construction phase affects the A67 motorway in the direction of Frankfurt from the Pfungstadt junction.
• Friday, April 17, 2026, around 9 p.m.
• until Monday, April 20, 2026, around 5 a.m.
Recommended detour:
Via the B426 to the A5 and to the Darmstadt-Eberstadt junction.
