The city of Griesheim is installing modal filters between Maria-Theresia-Straße and St.-Stephans-Platz
Griesheim. Since Tuesday, October 14, 2025, the southern ring road between Maria-Theresia-Straße and St.-Stephans-Platz closed to through traffic for cars. This measure aims to improve traffic safety and was implemented by the Griesheim municipal works department .
To implement this, so-called modal filters were installed – consisting of three posts and four Freiburg cones . These are intended to prevent motorized private transport in the area and at the same time increase safety for cyclists and pedestrians
