Special exhibition starts on August 22nd – advance booking is now open
Darmstadt. The Hessian State Museum Darmstadt will present the new immersive special exhibition "Clouds. Experience and Understanding" August 22, 2025, to January 11, 2026. Advance ticket sales began on August 1. Tickets are available online at www.hlmd.de or directly at the museum box office.
Impressive cloud formations and VR experiences
replicas of various cloud types up to eight meters tall , creating an immersive experience of nature in the exhibition space. A VR station impressively simulates weather changes, thunderstorms, and tornadoes . The so-called "Sky Room" invites visitors to linger and dream, featuring cloud seats designed especially for the exhibition.
In addition to the emotional appeal, the exhibition also offers comprehensive scientific background information : information on cloud types, climate, animal rain and weather phenomena is supplemented by new research results and presented in an understandable way for visitors of all ages.
Exhibition for all senses
The exhibition combines science and sensory experience . It invites visitors to become cloud researchers themselves and better understand the dynamic processes of the Earth's atmosphere.
