Planned together, bought, cooked and eaten
In the kitchen of the Leeheim youth center, six girls between the ages of nine and twelve sit around a table and snip off potatoes and chicken meat. "We do the main course. There are chicken nuggets with potato wedges and also herbal curd, ”reveals Matilda (ten years).
At the end of the "Winterfun", the holiday offer of the municipal youth office and the association, youth nurse Julia Spitzer invited to a joint cooking. Since the youth center of Erfelden is currently closed due to several water damage, it had moved to the Leeheim youth center at short notice. But before cooking, planning and purchasing stood. "We first thought about what should be cooked, then created a shopping list and started shopping," reports Spitzer.
Now work is being done on a multi -course menu in several rooms of the youth center. While the main course is created in the kitchen, a few steps of deep clara, fiona, Leonie and Doreen take care of the starters. While Leonie and Doreen make a cucumber salad, Clara and Fiona dough for classic pizza snails and a flambee variant.
Milena, Hira and Noah have a short break. You have to wait until the melted chocolate is cooled down to the extent that it can be stirred safely with the whipped cream. After all, the mousse au chocolate should not be served smoothly, but nice and tight to dessert.
During the "Winterfun" there were various activities in the first two weeks of January, which could also be booked individually. The response was very good for all activities, reports youth worker Spitzer. At the start we went to skate to Darmstadt. On another day, a trip to Frankfurt was on the program with a visit to the Städel and the city center. In addition, for young people from the age of twelve, the laser day in Darmstadt and now it is cooked on the last day of the holiday program. But of course not just cooked. To the crowning glory, all of the jointly prepared delicacies are destroyed with a lot of joy and enjoyment.
