Demonstration, discussions and cultural program on August 16 – patron Mayor Hanno Benz will speak at the opening
Darmstadt – Under the motto "Never silent again – I live as I want!" , this year's Christopher Street Day (CSD) Darmstadt will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2025. The event stands for visibility, self-determination, and solidarity with queer people and opposes all forms of discrimination.
Organized by the local CSD community, the day's program offers a mix of political demonstrations, panel discussions, cultural contributions, and a stage program featuring a diverse range of artists. The event concludes with the official CSD party at Centralstation .
Demonstration march with political opening rally
The day begins at 12:00 noon at Karolinenplatz with a political opening rally. Mayor Hanno Benz , who has also assumed patronage of CSD 2025, will give the opening address. This will be followed by a demonstration march through the city center , in which numerous initiatives, groups, and individuals will demonstrate their commitment to diversity and equality.
A platform for queer perspectives and political debate
The official stage program at 3:00 p.m. on Riegerplatz Hessian State Minister Heike Hofmann will give a welcoming address, followed by two panel discussions with representatives from state and local politics. Topics will include the rights of LGBTQ* people in Hesse and queer political perspectives on the upcoming local elections .
Show program with drag, music and performance
In addition to its political program, the CSD also offers a diverse cultural program. Performers on stage include RawCat, Miss BunPun, Leo Yamane, Ariana Harmony, Dahlia Danger, Ember Remember, Kitty Bambule, Chardonnay von Tain, Lex Ferrari, Miss Anna Stood, and Koko von der Line . The acts range from drag performances to live music and represent visibility, empowerment, and artistic diversity.
CSD after-show party in the Centralstation
The official after-show party starts at 10:30 pm at Centralstation Darmstadt . Four female DJs will be playing on two floors:
- DJane Käry (bass, electro, 80s & 90s),
- Leo Yamane (queer party sound),
- Emma McLellan (House & Dancefloor) and
- DJane Katrinity (Techno).
The party program will be complemented by show elements. Tickets are available in advance for €11.90 and at the door for €13.50.
Commitment to equality and against discrimination
With this year's motto, Darmstadt Pride aims to send a clear message against societal regression. Topics such as protection from discrimination , the right to self-determination , the preservation of marriage equality , and access to safe spaces are central to the event. Among other things, the organizers are calling for the anchoring of sexual orientation and gender identity in the constitution and for a consistent approach to combating hate speech and incitement.
