Music, theater, art and hands -on activities from June 13th to September 28th
In 2025 the science city of Darmstadt again participated in numerous events in the cultural summer of South Hesse . From music and theater to art installations to children's programs, visitors can expect a varied cultural offer - many appointments are accessible free of charge.
Music and theater in churches, gardens and neighborhood meetings
“Night of the Churches” take place on Friday, June 13 , from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Various beliefs open their doors for services, music performances and conversations in a special atmosphere.
On Saturday, June 14th , the Luise Büchner-Gesellschaft you summer festival in the Büchnergarten from 2.30 p.m. The Büchnerbühne Riedstadt presents a musical collage from Georg Büchner's "Leonce and Lena". Also on June 14th (from 7.30 p.m.) it says in the neighborhood garden in the Prinz-Emil Garden : backyard jazzonette-chanson evening with Dennis Wenzel .
Art, sustainability and international perspectives
The Democratic Forest Project will open on Tuesday, June 17, at 6 p.m. at the Association for International Waldkunst . 20 international artists deal with topics such as sustainability, environment and community.
The yolk concerts on July 5 and on August 23, 24 and 26 offer musical live moments. At the same time, exhibitions invite you to discover current art in the Backstube Kuntraum Backstube in Eberstadt
Organ music for connoisseurs and curious
From July 9 to August 20, seven organ concerts will take place in the Pauluskirche , followed by the organ weeks from August 23 to September 21 in the St. Ludwig church . On September 21, children in the St. Ludwig church can even assemble a kit organ themselves and thus get to know the instrument in a playful way.
Young culture: workshops and children's theater
As part of the “Junge Kuss”, five projects for children, adolescents and young adults take place in 2025. A highlight is the street art workshop on Saturday, August 23 , in the youth center in Heag-Häuschen , in which graffiti and street art are tested together. The created works are then issued.

- June 15, 2 p.m.: Märchentheater "Princess on the Peas" in the neighborhood home Prinz-Emil-Garten
- August 27, 9 & 11 a.m.: "Die Lizzylothek" from the Lakritz Theater in the Literaturhaus Darmstadt
- May to September, Sundays: Forest art workshops at the children's construction car of the forest art association in cooperation with artists
Completion with open studios across southern Hesse
The end of the cultural summer of South Hesse in 2025 are the days of the open studios on September 27th and 28th . Up to 80 studios throughout South Hesse open their doors to visitors who want to gain insights into artistic processes or want to become creative themselves.
