Experts provide information on rehabilitation, heart health, fall prevention and more
Darmstadt Hospital is continuing its "Medicine Today" and will once again host several specialist lectures in September 2025. The events are aimed at interested members of the public and offer understandable insights into current medical topics.
- September 8 (Monday): "Suddenly ill – and then what? The path to rehabilitation."
The hospital's social services department provides information on various forms of rehabilitation – from post-acute care to early neurological rehabilitation to geriatric rehabilitation. - September 11 (Thursday): “Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases”
Prof. Philip Wenzel, Director of the Medical Clinic I, explains risk factors and shows ways to reduce the individual risk of disease. - September 15 (Monday): "What to do if you have unsteady gait?"
Silke Stebner, head of physical therapy, explains the causes of unsteady gait and demonstrates training and everyday aids for fall prevention. - September 18 (Thursday): “Achievements from the Pandemic”
Dr. Cihan Celik, Head of the Pulmonology Section, draws a personal, critical assessment of the Covid-19 pandemic and highlights which experiences are of lasting value. - September 25 (Thursday): "Modern Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery – Much More Than Teeth."
PD Dr. mult. Oliver Ludger Seitz and Dr. Jens Schuster will provide insights into tumor surgery, maxillofacial surgery, facelifts, and other aspects of their field. - September 29 (Monday): "Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm – What Patients and Their Families Should Know."
Prof. Dr. Farzin Adili, Director of the Department of Vascular Medicine, will provide information on risk factors, diagnostic procedures, and modern therapies.
All lectures begin at 6 p.m. and will take place in the “Grafenstraße” lecture room at the Darmstadt Hospital , which can be reached directly via the forecourt.
