Secession Gallery Raum für Kunst presents a new exhibition from November 8th in Darmstadt
Sculptor Daniel Gregori Stern his new solo exhibition “Condensed Time (LAB)” at the Secession Gallery Raum für Kunst from November 8, 2025. The exhibition will feature sculptures made of stone, concrete, and glass that impressively explore the relationship between gravity, fragmentation, and balance.
Stern became known through his participation in the "Skulptur Aktuell" at the Ziegelhütte in Darmstadt, where his works impressed with their presence in the open-air setting. Now, a focused retrospective of his most recent works is on display. The artist combines materials such as 350-million-year-old limestone , concrete fragments from destroyed architecture , and glass surfaces into modular systems of compressed time .
Through precise mechanical interventions – cuts, grids, and layering – Stern creates sculptures that oscillate between rupture and order, past and present. “Condensed Time (LAB)” invites viewers to explore the relationship between geological depth and urban present and to interpret the works as repositories of condensed epochs.
Daniel Gregori Stern, born in 1981 in Diez an der Lahn, is a trained stonemason and completed his studies in sculpture under Prof. Wolfgang Luy at the Offenbach University of Art and Design in 2014. In 2018 he received the prize for young art from the Darmstadt Secession .
The exhibition opens on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 7 p.m. Dr. Isa Bickmann will give a speech Daniel Eyrich will provide musical accompaniment . Admission is free.
