Replacement for Ralf Stiewe – concert on March 1st in the Ludwigskirche
The carnival concert as part of the ecumenical Darmstadt Organ Winter has a new performer at short notice: Gereon Krahforst will take over the concert on March 1st at 6 pm in the Ludwigskirche, after Ralf Stiewe had to cancel due to illness.
Cheerful organ sounds and improvisations
The concert offers a diverse programworks by Scott Joplin, Henri Mancini, and L.-J.-A. Lefébure-Wély . A particular highlight will be Krahforst's improvisations on well-known Mainz and Cologne carnival songs, as well as famous film scores.
The performance will be played on the symphonic Winterhalter organ of the Ludwigskirche, whose sound spectrum underlines the festive character of the program.
