The 2025 Christmas market ends after 37 days as a joyful meeting place
Spectacular light displays, delicious mulled wine , and plenty of Christmas spirit: The Darmstadt Christmas Market successfully concluded late in the evening of December 23, 2025, after 37 well-attended days . Favored by mild weather, the Christmas market in the science city of Darmstadt once again attracted numerous visitors this year.
A particular crowd-pleaser was the evening light show , which illuminated the market square every hour on the hour from 6 p.m. daily. The program on the Christmas market stage – especially on Fridays and Sundays during Advent – was also very well received and attracted visitors from Darmstadt and the entire region to the city center.

Mayor Hanno Benz used the last day of the market for a discussion with Silke Coutandin-Hausmann, chairwoman of the Darmstadt Showmen's Association, and drew a positive conclusion:
" The Darmstadt Christmas Market went well. We coordinated with each other very early on, for example regarding the security concept. This was not only a financial challenge, and there will be aspects that we will adjust based on practical experience," said Benz. At the same time, he thanked everyone involved, especially the staff of Darmstadt Marketing and the Darmstadt Showmen's Association , for the successful implementation.
67 stalls and lots of Christmas cheer
The stallholders and fairground operators were also very pleased. From the very first day, the festively decorated city center was bustling with activity. Visitors browsed, shopped, and enjoyed the culinary offerings 67 stalls, some of which were quite diverse The children's train and carousels once again delighted the youngest guests – and evoked nostalgic memories for many adults.
Mulled wine glass as a collector's item
This year's mulled wine glass , presented by the Mulled Wine Princess at the opening, quickly became a sought-after eye-catcher and collector's item. As in previous years, visitors came not only from Darmstadt, but from the entire region – clear evidence of the Darmstadt Christmas Market's supra-regional importance
The Christmas market 2025 was supported by the science and technology company Merck , ENTEGA and Sparkasse Darmstadt .
Meeting place for encounters and togetherness
Overall, the Darmstadt Christmas Market 2025 a very positive event. The market appealed to people from the city and region, created a meeting place, and fostered a joyful atmosphere in the city center .
