The anniversary program brings music to festivals and fairs throughout the city
The Darmstadt Citizens' Foundation will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026 with a special concert program in Darmstadt. The foundation will support a total of ten concerts in the city center and various districts.
The events take place at events including the Heinerfest, the Schlossgrabenfest, several district fairs, and the Bunte Wiese in Kranichstein.
Mayor praises foundation's commitment
Hanno Benz, who is also chairman of the board of trustees of the citizens' foundation, emphasizes the importance of the foundation for Darmstadt.
“For 50 years, the Darmstadt Citizens' Foundation has been successfully committed to the common good in our city – with foresight, responsibility and an exceptional commitment to educational, cultural and social projects,” explains Benz.
Chairman of the Board Dr. Markus Hoschek emphasizes that the anniversary should be celebrated deliberately throughout the entire city. The aim is to involve as many people as possible and celebrate together with the city's community.
Family concert at the castle moat festival
A special focus of the anniversary program is a family concert at the castle moat festival. The concert is specifically aimed at children and families.
The other events take place mostly in the evenings and are spread across several districts.

Further concerts are planned at the fairs in Wixhausen, the Waldkolonie, the Heimstättensiedlung, in the Martinsviertel, in Bessungen and Arheilgen.
