Climate protection officer Kolmer: "Prize shows possibilities for climate-friendly construction"
The city of Darmstadt, a center of science and research, has extended the application deadline for its municipal climate prize for sustainable building until September 15, 2025. Private and public developers, housing associations, companies, organizations, and initiatives that have implemented projects in the areas of climate protection and climate adaptation are eligible to participate.
"The Climate Prize showcases possibilities for climate-friendly construction and encourages others to follow suit. We have extended the application deadline to give citizens another chance to apply. A total of €6,000 in prize money is available. It's worth participating," explains Climate Protection Officer Michael Kolmer.
Award recognizes exemplary measures
The award recognizes innovative construction and renovation projects, as well as projects for climate-resilient urban development. These include, for example:
- Use of renewable energies
- Measures to increase energy efficiency
- Use of sustainable building materials
- Green roofs and walls
- sustainable rainwater management
- Structural precautions against heat and heavy rain
The award ceremony is scheduled for November 25, 2025 .
