The city invites you to a neighborhood tour and to participate in shaping the city
As the City of Darmstadt announces, the next phase of urban development is starting in the Waldkolonie/Akazienweg funding area. It kicks off with a neighborhood meeting on March 24, 2026 , where residents can contribute their ideas.
The area has been part of the nationwide "Social Cohesion" The goal is to improve the quality of life in the neighborhood and strengthen community spirit. Funding from the federal government and the state of Hesse is available for this purpose, which is intended, among other things, to upgrade social infrastructure, playgrounds, and green spaces .
Development concept planned until 2026
An integrated urban development concept (ISEK) is currently being developed. This concept will analyze key challenges in the district and define concrete measures for the coming years. A decision is expected by the end of 2026.
Mayor Barbara Akdeniz and City Councillor Michael Kolmer emphasize the importance of participation: The project offers a great opportunity for the forest colony, which can be actively shaped.
Local participation opportunities
The first opportunity for participation is the neighborhood roundtable:
