The science city invites you to the darmstadtium on November 28th / State Minister Kaweh Mansoori will be a guest
Darmstadt. The science city of Darmstadt to its second public growth conference at the darmstadtium on Friday, November 28, 2025. The focus will be on the regional growth plan 2035 , the development of commercial and industrial areas and the joint mobility plan of the city and district of Darmstadt-Dieburg .
“Following the successful premiere of the growth conference last year, we are once again inviting all regional stakeholders from business, science, civil society and politics, as well as interested citizens, to discuss the future development of our city and region together,” explains Mayor Hanno Benz .
The event's cooperation partners are the district of Darmstadt-Dieburg , the Technical University of Darmstadt and the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences .
A special guest at the conference is Kaweh Mansoori , Hessian State Minister for Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport, Housing and Rural Areas , and Deputy Minister-President . His participation underscores the importance of interregional cooperation for sustainable urban and regional development.
Future strategy for city and region
growth plan 2035, initiated by Mayor Benz, is currently being developed through a broad dialogue process. It brings together key thematic areas such as the economy, urban development, mobility, social infrastructure, and climate resilience , and aims to define a joint, sustainable development strategy for the city and district.
"The goal is to shape the framework conditions in the city and region in such a way that people will continue to enjoy living and working here in the future," said Benz.
Another milestone is the tender for a commercial area potential analysis within the framework of the inter-municipal industrial park Gehaborner Hof – a strategic step for the economic future of the region.
Expansion of regional cooperation
Since the first growth conference in 2024, cooperation between Darmstadt and the district has deepened. Examples include the planned merger of the Darmstadt Clinic with the Agaplesion Elisabethenstift , the joint development of commercial areas , the preparation of a local transport plan , and the merger of the Darmstadt and Dieburg savings banks , which is scheduled to launch at the beginning of 2026.
