Interactive map combines services, orientation and city information
HEAG is expanding its Darmstadt im Herzen neighborhood app with a new interactive city map function. The aim of the expansion is to make digital orientation easier in everyday life and to clearly display important information about the city on a map. The development was carried out in cooperation with Darmstadt Marketing GmbH.
The new map view brings together numerous locations and offers in the city of Darmstadt and is also intended to strengthen the visibility of the individual districts.
Digital orientation for everyday life
Mayor Hanno Benz sees practical benefits for citizens in the new feature. The integrated city map combines services, orientation, and city information in a single application, thus making everyday life easier.
The map shows various facilities and locations, including swimming pools, museums, theaters, parks, tourist attractions, public restrooms, and parking. Users can search by category and find suitable options using filter functions.
Additional information such as short descriptions, contact details, or further information is displayed for each location.
Contribution to digital urban development
HEAG's board members, Prof. Dr. Klaus-Michael Ahrend and Dr. Markus Hoschek, emphasize the importance of the expansion for digital urban development. The new feature is intended to connect people with services and simultaneously strengthen identification with individual city districts.
In the long term, the digital city map will be expanded to include more locations and content.
