Cash, hashish and pepper spray pistol seized during targeted checks
As part of the "Safe City Center" , police conducted targeted checks in Darmstadt's city center on Thursday (August 20) from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Supported by members of the Hessian riot police, officers checked a total of 47 people and 19 bicycles. Particular attention was paid to the larger bicycle parking areas.
Plainclothes officers also targeted the bicycle racks and parking lot of a swimming pool in the Alsfelder Straße area. Around 5:50 p.m., three men were scheduled to be checked there, but they fled. A 25-year-old was apprehended and provisionally arrested.
During the search, police found approximately €15,000 in cash pepper spray gun in the vicinity of the men's vehicle .
The 25-year-old was taken to the police station for identification procedures. Criminal proceedings were initiated against him on suspicion of illegal trafficking in a significant quantity of narcotics .
