The City of Darmstadt to a lecture on social media use for parents on Thursday, October 23, 2025 , at 7 p.m. The event will take place in the auditorium of the North Vocational School Center . The speaker is Moritz Becker , a social worker, parent media trainer, and father himself.

The speaker explains in an easy-to-understand way how children and young people use media and provides practical advice for media education at home. The aim is to support parents and grandparents in teaching children how to use the internet and smartphones competently and safely – even if they themselves grew up without digital media.
The focus is on topics such as cyberbullying , online communication , and digital leisure activities . The aim is to enable a realistic assessment of the causes and effects of problematic usage patterns.
