Police ask witnesses for information after serious accident in Rheinstraße
Darmstadt. In a serious traffic accident on Wednesday afternoon (October 22), a 93-year-old woman so seriously injured that she had to be hospitalized.
According to police, the accident occurred around 4:10 p.m. on Rheinstrasse near Steubenplatz . Initial findings indicate that the woman was crossing the street toward Landgraf-Philipps-Anlage was struck tram traveling toward the city center
the 57-year-old tram driver was unable to avoid a collision. The woman from Darmstadt suffered severe injuries and was taken to a hospital by ambulance. The tram driver was in shock.
Expert investigates the course of the accident
At the request of the Darmstadt public prosecutor's office , an expert was commissioned to reconstruct the course of the accident and clarify the exact cause.
The police are asking witnesses who observed the incident and have not yet come forward to contact the 2nd Darmstadt police station at 06151 / 969-41210 .
