Police are asking witnesses for information after a serious accident on Rheinstraße
Darmstadt. In a serious traffic accident on Wednesday afternoon (October 22), a 93-year-old woman so badly injured that she had to be taken to a hospital.
According to police, the accident occurred around 4:10 p.m. on Rheinstraße near Steubenplatz . Initial findings indicate that the woman was crossing the street towards Landgraf-Philipps-Anlage tram traveling towards the city center .
The 57-year-old tram driver, despite reacting immediately and braking, was unable to prevent a collision. The woman from Darmstadt suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital by ambulance. The tram driver was in shock.
Expert investigates accident circumstances
At the request of the Darmstadt public prosecutor's office , an expert was commissioned to reconstruct the accident and determine the exact cause.
The police are asking witnesses who observed the incident and have not yet come forward to contact the 2nd police station in Darmstadt on telephone number 06151 / 969-41210 .
