A diverse program featuring regional wines, activities for children, and Sunday shopping
Darmstadt Marketing announces the popular wine festival in the city center for early September. From September 4th to 7th, Wilhelminenstraße and adjacent squares will once again be transformed into a haven for wine lovers and visitors alike. Numerous winemakers from Hesse, Rheinhessen, the Palatinate, and the Nahe region will present their wines – including many family-run businesses and producers specializing in organic farming or rare grape varieties. The festival will also feature creative hands-on activities, family-friendly events, and a Sunday shopping day.
Wine festival with regional specialties
The wine festival invites visitors to linger, taste, and enjoy themselves on all four days. A wide selection of wines awaits, complemented by culinary specialties and food stalls.

• Thursday to Saturday: 12 pm to 12 am
• Sunday: 12 pm to 9 pm
LONIA Ceramics in the Carree (Saturday, September 6th)
LONIA Keramik offers a special highlight on Saturday at the Carree: From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., visitors can creatively paint unpainted ceramic pieces – no prior knowledge required and with expert guidance. Advance registration at www.lonia-keramik.de is recommended, although a few spots may be available on the spot.
Children's Box on Ludwigsplatz (Saturday & Sunday)
For children, there's a colorful array of games available from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on both days, including giant building blocks, Connect Four, vehicles, and much more. The children's area offers fun and games for the little ones – and deck chairs for relaxing adults.
Langer Ludwig open (Saturday & Sunday)
The Lange Ludwig tower is open on Saturday from 5 pm to 11 pm and on Sunday from 1 pm to 6 pm. Climb 172 steps to the 30-meter-high platform for a view over the city center.
Admission: Adults €3, children €2, children under 6 free.
Sustainable fashion project in the Carree (Sunday)
On Sunday (1–6 p.m.), “Margartes Schneiderei” everyone to join in the fun at the Carree. Participants can bring up to seven items of clothing for upcycling. The event begins with a sewing machine demonstration – fashion with a twist.
Bicycle Action Day on the Market Square (Sunday)
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the 14th Darmstadt Bicycle Action Day take place in the market square. Activities include bicycle coding, a bicycle wash station, information booths, sales of new and used bicycles, and fun bikes from the German Bicycle Museum.

Sunday shopping
On the occasion of the wine festival, the shops in the city center will be open on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and invite you to a relaxed stroll and shopping experience.
