Wine tasting, music and a colorful city program – with Sunday shopping
DARMSTADT – For four days, Wilhelminenstraße will be transformed into a promenade for wine lovers: From Thursday, September 4th, to Sunday, September 7th, 2025, numerous wine and food stalls will invite visitors to taste, enjoy, and linger. Fine wines from vintners in Hesse – including the Bergstraße and Rheingau regions – as well as from Rheinhessen, the Palatinate, and the Nahe region will be presented. Many family-run wineries and organic vineyards will be represented.
- Wine Festival Opening Hours:
Thursday to Saturday: 12 pm – 12 am
Sunday: 12 pm – 9 pm
Attractive supporting program in the city
In addition to the wine festival, visitors can expect a diverse program throughout the city center:
- KinderKiste (Saturday & Sunday): From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ludwigsplatz with large games, vehicles and building blocks.
- Ceramic painting (Saturday): LONIA Keramik invites you to participate in the workshop at Carree from 1 pm to 6 pm. Registration is recommended at lonia-keramik.de .
- Langer Ludwig & Weißer Turm (Saturday & Sunday): View from the “Langer Ludwig” (3 Euro adults, 2 Euro children) and exhibition “The Cosmos in the Head” in the White Tower.
- “Margaret’s Tailoring” (Sunday): Creative activity in the square from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. – bring your own clothing and help design it.
- 14th Bicycle Action Day (Sunday): From 11 am to 4 pm in the market square with exhibitions, flea market, test rides, workshop offers and bicycle check.
Sunday shopping
On Sunday, September 7th, the shops in Darmstadt city centre will also be open from 1 pm to 6 pm .
