Discover Square Dancing in Arheilgen on September 8th and 15th
DARMSTADT-ARHEILGEN – Movement, music, and community are the focus of the Darmstompers' taster evenings . The square dance club opens its doors on Monday, September 8th, and Monday, September 15th, 2025, at 7 p.m. in the "Zum Goldenen Löwen" hall (Frankfurter Landstraße 153).
A dance form with tradition and a surprise effect
Square dancing is a dance in which four couples stand in a square. Unlike classical dances, there is no set choreography. Instead, a "caller" spontaneously calls out the figures, which the dancers follow directly to the music. This creates a varied mix of movement and rhythm without the need to memorize fixed step sequences.
“For us, it’s all about the joy of movement and dancing together to music – completely without performance pressure,” emphasizes Herbert Plach, president of the Darmstompers. “Square dance promotes fitness, socializing, and good spirits.”
Open to everyone, no prior knowledge required
No prior experience or dance partner is required to participate. Anyone of any age is welcome – whether alone, as a couple, or in a small group. Comfortable shoes are all you need; no prior registration is necessary.
