The Peter Grünig Award supports Café Nimmersatt in Eberstadt South
A darts tournament held to celebrate the founding of the darts section of VfR Eberstadt raised funds for a social project in the Darmstadt district. The tournament, entitled the "Peter Grünig Award," attracted numerous participants.
The event was sponsored by Peter Grünig, who worked for many decades as a district manager in Eberstadt South. A total of 240 euros to the Café Nimmersatt of BAFF – Women's Cooperation Darmstadt.
Winning teams participate in the donation
Part of the donation amount was also raised by the winning teams, who also made a portion of their prize money available for the good cause.
The Peter Grünig Award thus combines sporting competition with social engagement in the neighborhood.
The club focuses on social sports
Social responsibility has traditionally played an important role at VfR Eberstadt. The club sees itself as a place for diversity, fair play, and respect , and is consciously committed to supporting people and initiatives in the local community.
Peter Grünig also emphasized at the event the importance of clubs that combine sport with social commitment and focus on the people in the district.
