Campaign showcases “heroines and heroes” of everyday life in Darmstadt
The municipal services department (EAD) is once again participating in the nationwide Day of Public Services . The event will take place on June 23, 2025, and this year's theme is "Heroes and Heroines of Public Services" .
Making municipal services visible
The EAD (Darmstadt's municipal services department) is using this opportunity to highlight the people who ensure a functioning city every day. Under the hashtag #TagderDaseinsvorsorge ( the EAD is participating in the nationwide social media campaign of the Association of Municipal Enterprises (VKU) . Even before the official day of action, posts from Darmstadt are showcasing the diverse and indispensable tasks of the EAD – and the people who carry them out daily.
Clean streets, hot meals, sustainable waste disposal
“Our approximately 850 employees ensure every day that streets are clean, waste is disposed of, and children receive a hot lunch,” explains City Treasurer André Schellenberg . “They are the ones who make high-quality public services possible – with dedication, competence, and a great sense of responsibility.”
Reliability, sustainability, and safety are paramount. "Our colleagues bear responsibility for what makes our daily lives possible: the municipal infrastructure," emphasizes Schellenberg.
