Networking meetings combine around 60 active people from clubs, initiatives and specialist agencies
A strong sign of democracy, human dignity and diversity set around 60 participants at the networking meeting in the Groß-Gerau district office . The department had invited to right -wing extremism and racism in the office for integration. The evening was all about exchange, visibility and a joint attitude against discrimination. Patrick Zimmer from Home question.org moderated the event.
In his greeting, the first district member Adil Oyan the importance of civil society vigilance: "Right -wing extremist ideologies and discriminatory language also creep in everyday life. We have to counter this with attitude and cohesion."
Common network, common goal
Sedef Yıldız , head of the integration office, presented the network against right -wing extremism and racism , which has been doing work for ten years. "We unite the goal of protecting our democratic values and living diversity," says Yıldız.
The participants exchanged themselves at a “Meet & Greet” and a Gallery Walk , in which numerous initiatives, alliances and specialist agencies presented themselves. The program was supplemented by two discussion rooms on the topics of democracy education and regular exchange in the network .
"The evening showed how much commitment there is in the Groß-Gerau district. It was a clear signal for solidarity and democratic cohesion," summed up Yıldız.
Broad participation from civil society and administration
Among other things, were involved in the meeting:
- Alliances & clubs such as the campaign alliance against right-wing extremism Groß-Gerau, "We all for democracy" Biebesheim, Association without Borders Büttelborn, the Grandmas against the right , the initiative together in the Mainspitze, the Evangelical Center for Intercultural Education (EZIB) and much more
- Church sponsors , schools and foundations such as the Evangelical Deanery, the Catholic Church in the district, the Margit-Horváth Foundation or the Alte Synagogue Foundation.
- Municipal departments from the district and the cities, including the dext positions, integration offices, school social work, women's offices, youth education centers and the KVHS Groß-Gerau.
