Discussion on noise pollution planned for September 10th in Wixhausen
Darmstadt. Mayor Hanno Benz has asked the Hessian Minister for Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport, Housing and Rural Areas, Kaweh Mansoori, to send the state's aircraft noise protection officer, Regine Barth, to the next meeting of the Wixhausen local council on September 10, 2025.
Complaints since trial operation in July
The new departure route "Cindy S" has been in trial operation since mid-July. Since then, the mayor has received numerous reports from Wixhausen, Darmstadt's northernmost district, about increased aircraft noise and deviations from the planned route.
Exchange in the local advisory council
“The local council of Wixhausen will address the issue with the city councilor responsible for the science city of Darmstadt, Michael Kolmer. The aim is to give citizens the opportunity to discuss questions and concerns about the new departure route in direct exchange,” Benz writes in his letter to the minister.
