Discussion on noise pollution planned for 10 September in Wixhausen
Darmstadt. Mayor Hanno Benz has asked the Hessian Minister for Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport, Housing and Rural Areas, Kaweh Mansoori, to send the state's aircraft noise protection officer, Regine Barth, to the next meeting of the Wixhausen local council on September 10, 2025.
Complaints since trial operation in July
The new departure route, "Cindy S," has been in trial operation since mid-July. Since then, the mayor has received numerous reports from Wixhausen, Darmstadt's northernmost district, regarding an increase in aircraft noise pollution and deviations from the planned route.
Exchange in the local council
"The Wixhausen local council will address the issue with City Councilor Michael Kolmer, the department head responsible for the Science City of Darmstadt. The goal is to give citizens the opportunity to discuss questions and concerns about the new departure route in direct dialogue," Benz wrote in his letter to the minister.
