Closing event of the third season in the Ernst-Ludwig-Saal
The third season of the "Neighborhood Historian" program is coming to an end. After an 18-month research phase, the participants will present their findings to the public on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
Within the framework of the program, history-minded volunteers explore topics related to the history of Darmstadt's city and its districts. The research projects arise from the personal lives of the scholarship recipients and range from biographies of individuals and families to business and urban history, as well as art historical questions.
The current season is being carried out in cooperation with the Polytechnische Gesellschaft Foundation Frankfurt am Main, the Bürgerstiftung Darmstadt, the Kurt und Lilo Werner Stiftung RC Darmstadt and the City of Science Darmstadt.
At the conclusion of the year-and-a-half-long project, the local historians will present their work in various formats. Depending on the project, the results will be presented as an exhibition, film, book, or website. The closing event offers interested parties the opportunity to learn about the research and to engage in conversation with the participants.
