Proceeds from benefit concert support women's shelter in the Groß-Gerau district
As the district rural women's association announced, they a donation check for €2,850 to the association "Women Helping Women" 75th anniversary . The donation came from a benefit concert with "The Wonderfrolleins," which took place in the summer of 2025 at the Volkshaus Büttelborn.
The chairwoman of the district rural women's association, Kerstin Geis , used the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women to officially present the donation check. Half of the proceeds from the sold-out concert had already been earmarked for a social cause.
The money will benefit the women's shelter in the Groß-Gerau district . There, women and their children find protection from violence, safe accommodation, and professional psychosocial support. "The women's shelter is an important institution for the district, which we are happy to support," said Geis at the handover.
With this donation, the district's rural women's association is contributing to enabling affected women to make a safe new start. At the same time, the association looked back on a successful anniversary year – the benefit concert was sold out and provided a fitting setting for a 75th anniversary celebration.
