A circular hike with Mayor Niklas Gehnich starts at the little fir tree
On Sunday, March 8, 2026, the town of Weiterstadt invites everyone to its traditional walk through the town's boundaries. The walk starts at 10:00 a.m. at the barbecue hut by the Tännchen tree. The approximately ten-kilometer route is a circular hike through the Weiterstadt district.
The route runs mostly on paved paths. Two shorter sections in the area of the Schlimmergraben and the Löserbecken lead along field and forest tracks, respectively. Sturdy footwear and weatherproof clothing are recommended.

Several stops are planned during the hike. Mayor Niklas Gehnich will provide information on current topics and interesting facts about the region. The combination of exercise in the fresh air and insights into local politics makes the walk through the town's district a regular event on the city's calendar.

After the boundary walk, the town, with the support of the Weiterstadt Fire Department Association, invites everyone to a light lunch and drinks. Registration is not required. It is recommended to arrive at the barbecue hut a few minutes before the 10:00 AM start.
