Flag raised for German Diversity Day 2025 – focus on equal opportunities and respect
To mark the 13th German Diversity Day on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the Groß-Gerau district once again made a visible statement in support of diversity. Together with the team from the Office for Integration, First District Councillor Adil Oyan raised the flag for diversity in front of the district administration building. This year's nationwide day of action is themed . "
“German Diversity Day is an important opportunity to underscore our commitment to an inclusive, respectful, and discrimination-free society,” said Oyan. He thanked the employees of the district administration for their ongoing commitment to equal opportunities, participation, and respect .
Diversity as a lived practice
Since signing the Diversity Charter in 2007, the district administration has systematically pursued the goal of promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in social interaction. Through various internal and external projects, measures for diversity-oriented openness developed, contributing to a better understanding of social realities and strengthening dialogue.
"The Groß-Gerau district is characterized by diversity. This diversity is also reflected in the employees of the district administration," emphasizes Oyan. "We all bear responsibility for living equal opportunities and social cohesion
Focus on cultural holidays
In 2025, the district will place particular emphasis on intercultural awareness through raising awareness of the various holidays and festivals celebrated in the cultural backgrounds of its employees. "By engaging with the cultural holidays of our colleagues, we strengthen respectful dialogue and cooperation," explains Ivan Garofalo from the Office for Integration.
