The city of Weiterstadt announces increased controls to comply with the dog tax statute. Dog owners are asked to adhere to the applicable regulations - especially when registering their animals and carrying dog decorative bags.
Dog tax brand is mandatory - fines in the event of violations
Each dog must be registered with the city - either immediately after purchasing or at the latest after moving to Weiterstadt. A clear evidence of this is to wear the valid dog tax brand, which must be clearly visible outside the apartment or a fenced property.
As part of the announced controls by the city police, it is particularly checked whether dogs are properly registered. Dogs that live in the household for more than 14 days and have not been registered can be assigned a fine in accordance with Section 10 (1) of the dog tax statute.
The focus on cleanliness: carry dog decorative bags
Another control point concerns the carrying out of dog decorative bags. These must always be carried on the walk and shown on request. The city police will also pay attention to dirt by dog droppings to ensure cleanliness in public space.
The city of Weiterstadt appeals to all dog owners to take their responsibility seriously - to protect the environment and for good cooperation in the urban area.
