City police check registration and possession of dog waste bags
The city of Weiterstadt announces increased checks to ensure compliance with the dog tax regulations. Dog owners are asked to adhere to the applicable rules – especially regarding the registration of their animals and the carrying of dog waste bags.
Dog tax tag is mandatory – fines for violations.
Every dog must be registered with the city – either immediately after acquiring it or at the latest after moving to Weiterstadt. Clear proof of registration is the wearing of a valid dog tax tag, which must be clearly visible outside the home or any fenced property.
As part of the announced inspections by the city police, particular attention will be paid to whether dogs are properly registered. Dogs that have been living in a household for more than 14 days and have not been registered can be fined according to Section 10 Paragraph 1 of the dog tax regulations.
Cleanliness in focus: Carry dog poop bags
Another checkpoint concerns carrying dog waste bags. These must be carried at all times during walks and be available to show upon request. The city police will also be monitoring for dog waste to ensure cleanliness in public spaces.
The city of Weiterstadt appeals to all dog owners to take their responsibility seriously – to protect the environment and for good coexistence in the city area.
