Fifth dog swimming event with special bathing rules and information stands
On Sunday, September 14, 2025 , the Reinheim outdoor pool will host its fifth annual Dog Swimming Day . From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., four-legged friends will have the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing day in the water with their owners.
"The non-swimmer area can be used by humans and animals. The swimming area and diving pool are reserved exclusively for four-legged friends," explains Mayor Manuel Feick .
As in previous years, the entrance fee is €0.50 per foot and paw . Advance registration is not necessary.
In addition to the swimming fun, “Deine Futterprofis” , Reico sales partner Pullmann and the animal welfare association Tiere in Not Odenwald (TINO) with information stands.
Bathing rules for dog swimming
- Access only with valid rabies vaccination and current dog tag
- Bathing by owners is only permitted in the non-swimmer area
- Swimming and diving pool exclusively for dogs
- Do not leave dogs unattended
- Avoid temperature shocks, slowly accustom animals to the water
- Do not swim on a full stomach to avoid weakness
- Pay attention to the dog’s condition, avoid overexertion
- Dry dogs after swimming to prevent sunburn or hypothermia
Mayor Manuel Feick wishes all participants “a lot of fun at this year’s dog swimming day.”
