Fifth dog swimming event with special bathing rules and information stands
On Sunday, September 14, 2025 , the Reinheim outdoor swimming pool will host its fifth annual dog swimming day . From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., dogs will have the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing day in the water together with their owners.
"The non-swimmer area can be used by both humans and animals. The swimming area and the diving pool are reserved exclusively for four-legged friends," explains Mayor Manuel Feick .
€0.50 per foot and paw, as in previous years . Advance registration is not necessary.
In addition to the swimming fun, “Deine Futterprofis” , Reico sales partner Pullmann and the animal welfare association Tiere in Not Odenwald (TINO) with information stands.
Swimming rules for dogs
- Entry only with valid rabies vaccination and current dog tag
- Swimming by owners is only permitted in the non-swimmer area
- Swimming and diving pools exclusively for dogs
- Do not leave dogs unattended
- Avoid temperature shocks; gradually acclimate animals to the water
- Avoid swimming on a full stomach to prevent weakness
- Pay attention to the dog's condition and avoid overexertion
- Dry dogs after swimming to prevent sunburn or hypothermia
Mayor Manuel Feick wishes all participants "lots of fun at this year's dog swimming day".
