All dogs must be registered
Anyone who owns a dog in Griesheim must register it with the tax and fees office. Registration is required immediately after the dog moves into the household. After registration, owners receive a dog tax tag, which must be worn on the dog when outside the apartment or house.
City inspects dog ownership
The city of Griesheim has determined that not all dogs are properly registered. Therefore, the city police will be conducting increased checks in the coming months. These checks will verify whether dogs are registered and whether the registered information is current and complete.
Voluntary registration avoids fine proceedings
Failure to register your dog is an administrative offense. A fine of up to €10,000 be imposed.
The city of Griesheim is therefore requesting all dog owners to register any unregistered dogs with the tax and fees office immediately. Those who do so voluntarily now will generally not face any administrative offense proceedings for failing to register their dog previously.
