Higher fence, sturdier gates and a lock – dog park closed during construction
Starting Monday, May 19, 2025 , the fence surrounding the dog park in the Bürgerpark replaced. The Department is responding to numerous suggestions and feedback from dog owners. The area will be closed for the duration of the work.
Improvements for greater safety and cleanliness
The new fence will be higher and will have sturdier gates as well as an access gate to make it more difficult for dogs to escape. Additionally, a waste bin installed on the grounds to improve cleanliness on the meadow.
Head of Green Spaces Michael Kolmer emphasizes:
“The work is based on direct feedback from the community. We thank everyone for their patience during the construction phase – it's worth it to make it a success.”
Construction work schedule
- From May 19th: Dismantling of the old fence
- Following this: ordnance survey on the site
- End of May: Construction of the new fence begins.
- Construction time: Expected to be three to four weeks
The dog park will remain closed . Users are asked to use other areas.
