Mayor Feick hands over 60 retired but intact work helmets to DRK Reinheim and Zeilhard/Georgenhausen
Around 60 fire brigade helmets, which were no longer needed after the equipment of the Reinheim fire brigades with new personal protective equipment, have now found a sensible use: Mayor Manuel Feick recently handed over 30 helmets to the DRK local associations Reinheim and Zeilhard/Georgenhausen .
As part of the modernization, the emergency services received new helmets at the end of 2024 that meet the current technical standards and ensure better protection. However, when checking the decommissioned models, it turned out: Around 60 helmets are still in good condition and functional. They are ideal for using the medical service at events or to support the fire brigade in operations - in particular to supplement the protective equipment of the German Red Cross .
"I am pleased that we can use the helmets that no longer meet the latest fire brigade, but are still completely intact, support our DRK local associations meaningfully and thus make a contribution to the security of the emergency services there," said Mayor Feick when the handover.
