Two-year construction work by ENTEGA leads to temporary closures of forest paths
ENTEGA AG that elevated drinking water reservoir on the Dachsberg is being comprehensively renovated to secure the drinking water supply for part of the science city of Darmstadt . Work began at the beginning of October and is expected to take two years .
Renovation of the water chambers and renewal of the piping
As part of the project, the two water chambers of the elevated tank will be with high pressure up to 2,000 bar . The old concrete will be removed down to the reinforcement, a new waterproof plaster will be applied, and the piping will be completely replaced . A total of approximately 300 tons of material – consisting of concrete and blasting grit – will be generated, which will be transported away via existing forest roads.
Paths temporarily closed
Vorderwiesenschneise , Dachswiesenweg , and, within the city, the Böllenfalltorweg will be used for material transport . The forest remains generally accessible , but walkers in the Dachsberg area should temporary closures and restrictions .
