Two years of construction work by ENTEGA will lead to temporary closures of forest paths
ENTEGA AG that drinking water reservoir on Dachsberg is undergoing extensive renovation to secure the drinking water supply for part of the science city of Darmstadt . The work began at the beginning of October and is expected to last two years .
Refurbishment of the water chambers and renewal of the piping
As part of the project, the two water chambers of the elevated reservoir will be with high pressure up to 2,000 bar . The old concrete will be removed down to the reinforcement, followed by the application of a new waterproof plaster and the complete replacement of the piping . A total of approximately 300 tons of material – consisting of concrete and blasting media – will be generated and transported away via existing forest roads.
Paths temporarily closed
Vorderwiesenschneise , Dachswiesenweg , and, within the town, the Böllenfalltorweg east of Nieder-Ramstädter Straße will be used for transporting materials forest will generally remain accessible ; however, walkers in the Dachsberg area should temporary closures and restrictions .
