Securing their place in the 1st Bundesliga and achieving promotions for the swimming department
Darmstadt / Nuremberg / Essen / Frankfurt-Höchst. The swimming teams of DSW 1912 Darmstadt . Competing in national and regional leagues, the teams were in excellent form, securing their place in their respective leagues and achieving promotions, generating positive headlines.
The men's first team , coached by Brandon Oberwallner, eighth in the German Swimming League in Essen , thus securing their place in the league. DSW 1912 Darmstadt will therefore remain among the elite of German swimming clubs .
Darmstadt women's first team provided particular excitement in the 2nd Bundesliga South competition in Nuremberg. Coached by state coach Ingolf Bender , the team engaged in a close contest with numerous lead changes. With 20,024 points, the Darmstadt women secured a narrow second place . Whether this placement is sufficient for promotion to the 1st Bundesliga will only be decided after the results of all leagues have been tallied.
DSW 1912 men's second team celebrated another promotion. DMS Oberliga Hessen (Hesse State League) , the team convincingly defeated the favored SC Wiesbaden , thus securing promotion to the second-highest German league women's second team also competed in Frankfurt-Höchst . In a strong field of participants, they finished eighth out of twelve clubs , securing another year in the Oberliga.
Coach Brandon Oberwallner was very pleased with the results:
“ Darmstadt swimming has no yo-yo teams. Everyone exceeded expectations and maintained their league status or even achieved promotion. That was our first goal of the season, which we worked towards together. All the teams can be proud of themselves. ”
State coach Ingolf Bender also commented on the performances:
“ It’s no secret that other clubs in the Bundesliga use appearance fees. Our priority is to establish as many young athletes as possible from Hesse and Darmstadt in attractive leagues on a long-term basis – without having to pay them. We have succeeded very well in this. ”
The head of the swimming department, Matthias Ocklenburg , emphasized the historical significance of the competitions:
“ DSW 1912 was instrumental in establishing the team competitions to further solidify swimming as a team sport. We intend to systematically build upon these successful roots in the coming years. I thank everyone involved for their outstanding collective achievement. ”
