TopTeam shines with championship titles, club records and strong final placements.
As DSW12 Darmstadt reports, the top team presented a strong overall performance at the German Short Course Championships (DKM) from November 17th to 20th, 2025 in Wuppertal. Under the leadership of coach Brandon Oberwallner, the team, a mix of experienced and young athletes, showcased their top form. Highlights included Alexander Bauch's German Championship title and the men's 4x50-meter medley relay team's third-place finish , completing an all-Hessian podium.
Championship title for Alexander Bauch
The backstroke specialist once again demonstrated his national top class, defending his title in the 50-meter backstroke with a time of 23.60 seconds . He also confirmed his versatility in other disciplines:
- 6th place in the 50m butterfly (final)
- 5th place in the 50m freestyle (final)
This means Bauch remains one of the strongest short sprinters in Germany.
All-Hessian podium: DSW relay team wins bronze
The men's 4x50 meter medley relay team impressed with a strong performance:
- SC Wiesbaden
- SG Frankfurt
- DSW12 Darmstadt
The DSW quartet won bronze , set a new club record , and confirmed the team's strength in relay swimming. The 4x50-meter medley mixed team impressed with a 6th place finish in their opening event.

Coach draws a positive conclusion
TopTeam coach Brandon Oberwallner is very pleased:
The team performed strongly both athletically and personally, supported each other, and showed significant improvements in performance from both the experienced and the young athletes. Now the focus is on the German Team Championships (DMS) in December and the upcoming long-course season.
Strong overall picture at the end of the year
The DSW12 athletes impressed with personal best times, final appearances, a German championship title, and a brilliant relay victory. After a detailed analysis of the competition results, the team is optimistic about the upcoming challenges.
