Pilot project with Bolt provides more flexibility – city asks for consideration
For several weeks now, e-bikes from the provider Bolt available to residents of Weiterstadt – a pilot project that, according to the city administration, is already proving very popular. The electrically assisted rental bikes offer an environmentally friendly and flexible way to get around the city.
The Bolt app makes it easy to locate, rent, and return e-bikes almost anywhere within the permitted area after your ride. A particular advantage: users can see not only the location of the nearest bike via the app, but also its battery level and availability .
Please be considerate when parking e-bikes
The city administration urges all users to be considerate of their surroundings when parking their bicycles. Sidewalks, pedestrian zones, entrances, and narrow passages should be kept clear to avoid obstructing other road users.
Reports of improperly parked e-bikes – for example, on sidewalks or in private driveways – can be forwarded directly to the city administration. They will promptly find a solution to ensure order and safety in public spaces
Positive feedback and outlook
“We are delighted that the project has been so well received and would like to thank everyone who uses the e-bikes responsibly,” explains Mayor Ralf Möller . “Together, we can help ensure that this service becomes a lasting success and that Weiterstadt takes another step towards sustainability.”
The e-bike project is continuously evaluated and will adapted to the needs of the city's residents . The goal is to create an effective and climate-friendly mobility alternative in the long term – especially for shorter journeys within the city.
