Building authority will be electric in the future – ID.3 replaces old service vehicle
The Reinheim city building authority is now using a new electric service vehicle . The previous car, first registered in 2012 and showing its age with approximately 220,000 kilometers on the odometer, has been replaced by a used Volkswagen ID.3 .
The decision to switch vehicles was made for economic and environmental reasons: the maintenance and repair costs of the old vehicle were no longer economically viable. The new vehicle – a three-year-old lease return with only 24,000 kilometers on the odometer – was purchased for around €20,000 .
Climate protection and cost awareness are the focus
Mayor Manuel Feick emphasizes the importance of sustainable solutions for urban mobility:
in the most climate-neutral and cost-effective way possible when renewing or supplementing our vehicle fleet . Therefore, I am very pleased that we were able to acquire this vehicle as a lease return.”
With the electric vehicle, Reinheim is setting another example for climate-friendly mobility in its municipal vehicle fleet .
