Please note the changed collection points
As every year, Darmstadt residents can drop off their used Christmas trees (no plastic trees) at numerous collection points in the city area starting Monday, January 6th.
From there, they are disposed of by the municipal services department of the city of Darmstadt (EAD), which regularly visits the collection points until and including Friday, January 31. The trees must be completely free of Christmas decorations such as tinsel, as they will be processed at the Darmstadt composting plant.
Lead tinsel can be dropped off free of charge at the EAD recycling center, Sensfelderweg 33, 64293 Darmstadt, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
