The Groß-Gerau district is organizing a trip under the motto "Become a democracy amplifier!"
The Youth Education Center of the Groß-Gerau district invites young people between the ages of 15 and 22 to a four-day educational trip to Erfurt. From October 3rd to 6th, 2025, young people from the Groß-Gerau district can participate in workshops, exchange programs, and interactive educational activities "Become a Democracy Amplifier!"
The trip focuses on questions such as: What does politics have to do with me? How can I strengthen democracy? And why do voting behavior and political attitudes differ between East and West Germany?
The trip is being organized in cooperation with the Groß-Gerau municipal youth services. Planned activities include a visit to the Andreasstraße Memorial , which powerfully illustrates what it meant to stand up for democratic values in the GDR. In addition, participants will use an interactive mobile game how to recognize right-wing and anti-democratic strategies in everyday life.
The program also includes personal interaction with engaged young people from Erfurt. Games, leisure activities, and exploring the city together round off the trip.
Participation costs 75 euros. Individual support is available for those experiencing financial difficulties. The registration deadline is June 30, 2025 .
The educational trip is part of the event series “Become a Democracy Amplifier!” , which also includes a democracy workshop on June 28th and a seminar for those engaged in informal discussions on September 13th .
