The city and ENTEGA invite you to an event on “Future-Proof Heating” on August 26th
DARMSTADT – The City of Darmstadt and ENTEGA invite August 26, 2025, to the next event in the "Future-Proof Heating" The meeting point is building L4I02 of the TU Darmstadt on the Lichtwiese campus (Franziska-Braun-Straße 10). Property owners in eastern Darmstadt are invited, especially those from the Composers' Quarter, the Gemstone Quarter, the Woogsviertel East district, and the Lichtwiese campus – interested parties from other districts are also welcome.
The city is currently working on a municipal heat plan, which is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025. The plan will identify which heating solutions – such as district heating, heat pumps, or other climate-friendly systems – are suitable for the various city districts.
Clarity for homeowners
“Many people are asking themselves: What does the heat planning mean for my neighborhood? Will district heating be installed, do heat pumps work in older buildings, and what can I do right now? We receive these questions daily,” explains Climate Protection Officer Michael Kolmer. “The event aims to provide clarity and support homeowners in taking the first steps toward making their houses future-proof.”
In addition to contributions from the city and ENTEGA, the evening offers further support services in cooperation with Effizienz:Klasse GmbH. The keynote speaker is energy expert Carsten Herbert, known as the "Energy Saving Commissioner" on YouTube and a Spiegel bestseller author. He presents complex technical topics in a clear and practical way.
