Coffee, snacks and more right by the platform – Mayor Feick is delighted
Located directly at the Reinheim train station, the new bistro "Genuss am Gleis" (Enjoyment at the Platform) now offers a convenient and enjoyable meeting place for travelers and visitors. Owner Irina Ilin and her team serve customers from morning till night with coffee, sandwiches, pastries, and other everyday essentials.
In addition to food and drinks, the product range also includes magazines, daily newspapers, mobile phone accessories, gift items, and tobacco products. Ilin's goal, she says, is to revitalize the train station and create a comprehensive offering for commuters and visitors. Originally from Reinheim, she now lives in Modautal and hopes that the new concept will contribute to the station's revitalization.
The bistro has been very popular since its first few weeks. A new addition is a small outdoor café with seating. There, guests can enjoy fresh waffles with ice cream or fruit when the weather is nice.
Mayor Manuel Feick and Grit Schieck from the city's economic development office visited the bistro in person. "I am delighted that the train station once again offers a meeting place for travelers. And I'm sure that guests who aren't traveling by train will also find their way to 'Genuss am Gleis' (Enjoyment by the Track)," said Feick. "We wish the team continued success and hope for a positive reception from the community."
