Winner's check for 1,500 euros presented for climate protection project
The Crumstadt Open-Air Swimming Club (Freibad Crumstadt eV) is the winner of the ENTEGA Club Award 2025 for the Ried region. The club was recognized for its project to create a second wildflower meadow and received prize money of €1,500. The winning check has now been officially presented.
The green energy and telecommunications provider ENTEGA held its club initiative for the tenth time at the end of 2025. The online competition was once again held under the motto "Strong in the club, strong for the climate," thus specifically highlighting projects that contribute to climate protection. Regional clubs were able to present their projects and have them evaluated by the public.
“Our campaign is specifically aimed at clubs and associations that are applying with a project related to climate protection. This underscores the importance of this responsible task, which concerns us all,” explained ENTEGA Managing Director Frank Gey. ENTEGA sees itself as a sustainably operating partner of the region and views climate protection as a key task for the future.
Competition with a regional focus
To ensure fairness, the competition was divided into six regions: Bergstraße, Darmstadt, Mainz, Odenwald, Rheinhessen, and Ried. A total of 90 clubs participated in the ENTEGA club promotion. In this anniversary year, a total of €36,000 in prize money was awarded, including an extra prize draw.
In addition to the Crumstadt Open-Air Swimming Pool Association (Schwimmverein Freibad Crumstadt eV), which took first place, other clubs in the Ried region were also recognized. Second through seventh place, with prize money ranging from €500 to €1,000, went to the Pfungstadt Free Gymnastics Club (Freie Turngemeinde 1900 eV Pfungstadt), the Dornheim Fruit and Horticulture Association (Obst- und Gartenbauverein Dornheim eV), the Gernsheim Open Workshop (Offene Werkstatt Gernsheim eV), the Wallerstädten Sports Club (SKG Wallerstädten eV), the Geinsheim Sports Club (SV 1907 Geinsheim eV), and the Worfelden Nature Conservation Association (NABU Worfelden 1955 eV).
