Change at the top of the company – Mayor Benz welcomes the supervisory board's decision
Thomas Schmidt will become CEO of ENTEGA AG on January 1, 2026. The company's Supervisory Board elected him at its meeting on March 19, 2025, for a five-year term until 2030. Schmidt has served as a member of the Executive Board responsible for trade and sales since 2022 and will continue in this role until the change at the top of the company.
The current CEO, Dr. Marie-Luise Wolff, will remain in office until the end of 2025. Chief Financial Officer Albrecht Förster and Andreas Niedermaier, responsible for Human Resources and Infrastructure, will continue in their positions.
Darmstadt's Mayor Hanno Benz, who is also Chairman of the ENTEGA Supervisory Board, emphasized: "With Thomas Schmidt, an experienced energy expert is taking over the management, someone who has known the company for years and has played a key role in shaping it. The transition will be smooth and the successful work will continue seamlessly."
Dr. Wolff also welcomed the decision: "Thomas Schmidt brings extensive experience and will lead the company safely." Schmidt himself described his election as "a great honor and obligation" and announced that he would work continuously with the management team to further develop the company's work.
